Did they actually say 'exploit'? Just try DRAWing a table (using QMF V6) that contains any of the new datatypes (let alone SELECTing them) and you'll see how non-existant the exploitation is. (ie "Sorry, a system error occurred.")

Tim Lenahan's IDUG presentation from 1999 has rough estimation on number of instructions needed for various SQLs. I too have some numbers of my own experiments. I have to search my folders for this, once I get it I will e-mail you along with SRM value of my m/c.

Unit of work in the same TCB could be little bit tricky. Try SAVEPOINT, which is a new option in V6 with APAR PQ30439. There is a redbook on SAVEPOINT. Does it link-edit at every level of migration with correct library or it just moves once link-edited load module to your production? If it is the second case, re-linking may help.

Usually this is caused by the absence of some other object that the table definition requires. If someone put a gun to my glass of beer and made me guess, I'd say you probably created a table with a primary key clause and didn't create the Unique Index required to enforce that primary key. This is a sample scenario which can cause the Incomplete definition message. DSNU305I csect-name - TABLE=table-name HAS AN INCOMPLETE TABLE DEFINITION Explanation: Table 'table-name' does not have an index defined to enforce the uniqueness of its primary key.

Check the details in the Messages & Codes manual.

You specified a PRIMARY KEY on the table, but you have not created the corresponding index. I still repeat the same thing, if you can count (depending on your application design) the approximate total number of locks which may be taken in case of the partition tablespace starting from page/row locks and then [...]
