An index not defined as unique requires 2 extra bytes per key. This is also true for indexes defined as UNIQUE WHERE NOT NULL. We are running UDB v7.1 on NT and are trying to build static stored procedures using the SPB. We have two databases on this server and would like to create the same stored procedure name on both databases. Hit the send key too soon.

If this behaves like OS/390, then it sounds like the problem is not the rebind but the precompile & compile.

Maybe the SPB copy/paste is doing a precompile, compile & bind.

Is there a way to copy the stored procedure without precompiling and compiling?

We just ran into this situation. You have 3 options:

(1) Recreate the databases on two separate instances (2) Create two different procedures with different names (3) (IBM suggested) : Reregister a new stored procedure, that has the same name, but points to a different file [...] 3348 53 16_Re: CICS and DB260_=?iso-8859-1?Q?F=E8lix?= Ventosa =?iso-8859-1?Q?Franqu=E9s?=19_fventosaf@MENTA.NET31_Sat, 30 Sep 2000 08:53:58 +0200394_iso-8859-1 It is true that one CICS region can attach only to one DB2 subsystem. I just pick this discussion at this point, but if it deals with VSE&VM environments (not OS/390), this sentence is not correct. VSE/CICS can attach to several DB2 servers through the use of the CIRB transaction. For DSNTEP2, you change MAXERRORS from 10 to 0 as well.

Testing for all of the codes is the suggestion.

One more possible help in the future is the LOAD utility in V7 with the option to avoiding locking the full table space or partition. Page and row locks can still have deadlocks and timeouts. SECURITY is a reserved word. Put quotes (or whatever your SQL string delimiter is) around SECURITY. ALTER TABLE DROP FOREIGN KEY "SECURITY"
