I have installed DB2 enterprise server V 8.1 fix pack 1 in my win 2000 (SP4) machine. I have added my mainframe database ( DB2 UDB 6.1 on os/390 v2r9) using the configuration assistant. I am able to connect to mainframe database through the command center. When i try to expand the subsystem name of my mainframe database from the control center i dont get any db2 resources list (which i used to get when i was running db2 7.1 in my windows 2000). I have done a bind for the mainframe database for the following utilities: cli/odbc [...] 31 40 20_XML & DB2 for OS/39012_Peter, Georg15_G.Peter@DZBW.DE31_Fri, 29 Aug 2003 09:31:20 +0200376_windows-1251 Good morning, collegues.

We have the need to store XML documents in DB2 for OS/390 V6 databases.

And we have to deal with this structured documents in our COBOL-based applications.

Has anyone done this successfully ? If so please share your experience with us.

Thanks in advance for any information you are willing to pass along. I am facing a strange problem. My user id has been given DBADM authority by the SYSADM. But still I can't create views and also cant do any select/update/delete functiontions using the views in the database on which I got the DBADM access. I can use these functions only when my ID is given explicit access for select/update and delete. Have been trying to do this same thing. DB2 lets me create the column but it only stores 255 chars then truncates the rest of the data. Do you have any suggestions?

We are on DB2 v710 / os/390

Thanks,
